Façade Lighting design of the Tourism Bank Central Building: The Illuminance Combination of Tradition and Modernity.

Architecture:

The Tourism Bank's central office is located on a land area of 60,000 square meters and 25 floors in District 2 of Tehran, Sa'adat Abad. The architectural concept of this structure, which was designed by Kourosh Rafiey, includes a mesh and metal texture with a one-piece and coherent facade, which shows a kind of urban entanglement using extensions on the glass facade. To create this facade was inspired by a traditional Iranian architectural structure called the Karbandi. Karbandi is a type of covering consisting of arches with distinct arches that intersect each other and create beautiful geometric shapes. In fact, the Tourism Bank Group pays special attention to the issue of tourism in this historical country and has used a kind of facade design that not only creates a symbolic form in the end but also reflects and redefines the color of the past history and civilization in a completely contemporary and modern way.

Lighting Design:

The facade lighting of any building is considered a factor that makes the perception of the architectural effect more possible for the viewer at night. RGE Lighting Company implemented the facade lighting of this structure by using the latest light fixtures and lighting hardware. Hassan Bahadori, the lighting designer of the Tourism Bank central building, says about this project: The facade of this structure consists of parallel lines that create double arches with their periodic rotations in the graphic shell. These double arches connect the distant past to the near future or it means a new identity. At the same time, it evokes tradition in space through porticoes with the historical precedent of Iran on earth. using the latest tools and facilities and designing and making light forms and images according to the type of building volume and following the curved lines, helped to create a very beautiful display on the facade of the building and a different visual feeling created in the audience.

In the lighting design of this project, an attempt has been made to show the second aspect of architecture at night, as the outer shell shows off beautifully during the day. The movement of metallic reflective lines on the facade is the basis of the lighting design for the Tourism Bank central office building. The result of the work is the design and creation of a graphical mono-color (in cold white) scenario that displays the architecture in the most beautiful way possible at night with a slow movement in line.
