Façade Lighting of Platin Shopping Center, Meditation in blue

Architecture:

The Platin Shopping Center is located on a land of 10,500 meters on 14 floors in Tehran (Shahrak-e Gharb) adjacent to several other large malls. The design of this structure is a continuous combination of an incomplete sphere and a prism with a sector section, which has created a completely modern look. The upper part is spherical in blue, which has given a unique effect to this magnificent building and has created a completely modern volume in the area. Two major gaps in the spherical form of the project distinguish the entrances of the complex. Also, the presence of an all-around porch on the ground floor connects the front entrance of the complex to the middle lobby of the ground floor and somehow connects the commercial center to the outside surrounding courtyard.

Lighting Design:

In the crowded and bustling atmosphere of “San'at Square”, the meditatively Blue Lighting Design invites the attendees to silence and peace. For the facade lighting Design of Platinum Shopping Center, RGE Lighting company has tried to make it brighter and more visible. To achieve this, we emphasized the shape of the building considering the blue colors of the ceiling material and using the blinker effect and finally, we succeeded in creating a very astonishing landscape. The light sources of this project have a special Polycarbonate cover which protects them from the worst weather conditions. These light fixtures are specially designed in the R&D Section for this project and are completely controlled by the central controller system.

Hassan Bahadori, the lighting designer of this project, believes that lighting as an innovative creator creates beautiful patterns on the painting canvas of the night and is like clothing that gives personality to the content inside. The Blue dome-shaped facade of the Platinum Shopping Center displays the idea of crystallizing and the connection of life and death in the form of this shell and by that it gives a new color and glaze to the facade of the building.

Hassan Bahadori further explains, "Blue lights are created at the beginning, they flicker with a gentle rhythm, their intensity increases (they grow) and they reach a maximum level (the peak of maturity), then their intensity decreases and at the end, they turn off (they die). In fact, these lights are a symbol of the "Mortal-Self". The orange light located in the heart of the blue light is always bright and symbolizes life and the Eternal self is in every living being.
